Boston Cream Pie, Son.
Chef Rusty is originally from Florida but he reps a Sox hat everyday. This is his ode to a classic Boston Cream Pie.
The Boston cream pie is a classic American dessert that is widely beloved, especially in its home state of Massachusetts, where it holds the title of official state dessert. However, despite the name, it is important to note that Boston cream pie is actually a cake, not a pie.
- Cake layers: Typically a golden or vanilla sponge cake, known for its light and airy texture.
- Filling: A thick, smooth, and creamy vanilla custard or pastry cream.
- Topping: A rich chocolate ganache or icing that adds a final layer of sweetness and flavor
So how do we make it as a fudge? We start with a cake fudge filled with wafer cookies, fill it with a layer of creamy custardy cream fudge. Then another layer of cake fudge and then top it with a thick layer of Chocolate Fudge.
This fudge kicks so much ass. Please try it today.
